That Hellbound Train

June sees the release of our next take on a story by PSYCHO writer Robert Bloch: THAT HELLBOUND TRAIN, a 3-issue miniseries.

This one is again adapted by Joe and John Lansdale (the former of whom is also working on an horrific 30 DAYS OF NIGHTminiseries, “Night Again’ with Sam Kieth), and features art by Dave Wachter.

Covers for the series are by my former ZOMBIES VS ROBOTS cohort Menton Matthews III, and Dave Wachter and Michael Manomivibul also supplied variant covers for the first issue. All three images, plus some b&w and color pages from issue 1 and Menton’s covers for issues 2 and 3, are displayed below.

What’s it about? The solicits can likely say it more eloquently than me paraphrasing:

Take a trip back in time on Robert Bloch’s That Hellbound Train! Join Martin, an out-of-luck orphan, as he struggles to fulfill the American dream.  As Martin comes of age, fate conspires against him at every turn.  On the verge of giving up hope, our young protagonist is visited by a monstrous train, one whose conductor might just have a ticket to fame and riches… if Martin is willing to pay the price!  Scribes Joe and John Lansdale (30 Days of Night: Night, Again) and artist Dave Wachter bring this unique tale of American folklore to life!
