Yes, he is. Even in comics (well, our comics), characters don’t (shouldn’t) come back from having their actual head blown off. But that event was only the beginning of our biggest G.I. JOE storyline to date. The one killshot is the catalyst for Cobra Civil War (the snake is now headless, so that power vacuum’s gotta be filled), an event that kicks off our three relaunched JOE titles starting in May. Among the titles, SNAKE EYES is getting his own book for the first time ever.
Artist Zach Howard has supplied nine covers for the three debut issues, each one showing a different candidate to assume the role of C.C. in COBRA. Those covers will also be released on the back of pull-out posters in each of the new first issues, and as a separate 11″ x 17″ portfolio.
Above is a look at Gabriele Dell’Otto‘s painted cover art for SNAKE EYES #0. Similar to how we launched our first JOE comics, we’re relaunching everything with a 30-page #0 issue in May. It’ll include three 10-page stories that lead into the three new series (G.I. JOE, COBRA, and SNAKE EYES) in June.
