The Week in IDW

G.I. JOE: COBRA #11 got high marks from Comics Bulletin. And all I can say is, no one who likes G.I. JOE should miss COBRA #12. Really. Trust me. Seriously. For reals.

Comic Book Resources reviews this week’s return of JOHN BYRNE’S NEXT MEN #1.

JOHN BYRNE’S NEXT MEN #1 reviewed at Kitty’s Pryde.

There are some impressive results up at the LAST UNICORN site in their recent art contest. (The hardcover collection of this book will be out in February.)

The WE WILL BURY YOU TPB by Brea and Zane Grant and artist Kyle Strahm, got a good write-up at Ain’t It Cool News.

Bob Tinnell and Mark Wheatley got a great review at Amazon for Volume 1 of LONE JUSTICE.

Beau Smith‘s new WYNONNA EARP: THE YETI WARS graphic novel also came out this week, just in time for Beau’s birthday, and master showman that he is, Beau drummed up all kinds of attention about the book:

Bob Baker at The Village Voice put up part 1 of his 2010 graphic novel round-up. And he had this to say about  Darwyn Cooke’s PARKER: THE OUTFIT:

“…if you’re looking for the current gold standard in straight-up comic-book artistry, Darwyn Cooke is your man.”

  1. Next Men was pure garbage – your associate with John Byrne is sullying the good name of IDW.

He is a bitter old hack who churns out vile comics with no craft, heart or sense of professionalism.

Shame on you Chris Ryal for supporting such nepotism.

    • Same old ignorant tune, eh, Joe? At least you threw in a new variation this time, a completely incorrect use of the word “nepotism.”
If you actually bought the book, despite your oft-professed dislike of John, thanks for the support. Now please stop posting here.

  2. Chris,

Thanks for the mention and all the support for Wynonna Earp. As always, I am in your debt. Lots of good buzz about the book has been pouring in and more to come. It’s a good day. Thanks!

    Beau
