Frank Frazetta passed away today. I won’t even try to sum up the man’s life and accomplishments here, but if you’re not as fully aware of his legacy as you should be, his site is a great place to start.
I never met the man, but had the honor of telling a story around one of his classic paintings for the Frazetta Comics line run by Jay Fotos. Together, Jay and I, and artist Tim Vigil, took on Frazetta’s NEANDERTHAL.
The guy leaves behind an unmatched legacy. I even have his 1982 calendar hanging on my wall right now (1982′s day/dates match up to 2010′s…). I’d say he’ll be missed but his work will always be here for all of us.

oh man, that sucks.
